Adeline V. Dempsey

Adeline V. Dempsey, of Reading, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023. She was 82 years of age.

Adeline was a long time resident of Reading and married her high school sweetheart, John Dempsey. They were married for 56 wonderful years. Her greatest accomplishment was the family they created together. Nothing made her happier than being with loved ones. Adeline dedicated her life to caring for others.  She was an excellent cook and found joy in preparing meals for family and friends. She loved many things especially birdwatching and her flower gardens which she took great pride in. Despite having many health challenges throughout her adult life Adeline never complained. She showed incredible grace and strength even in the toughest of times. 

Adeline is the beloved wife of the late John Dempsey. She is the cherished mother of Michael Dempsey and his wife Kathleen, Mary McGrath and her husband Kevin and the late Joseph Dempsey. She is the loving Nana of Sean, Patrick and Connor Dempsey and Addie and Maeve McGrath. Great grandmother of Ceianna, Freddie, Michael, Sophia and Ulysses. 

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with her family in the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING on Friday January 27th from 10 am to 12 pm followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Adeline's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at Charles Lawn Cemetery, Reading.
