IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Adeline D.
(Diblasio) Kilduff
November 17, 1937 – July 26, 2025
Adeline Dorothy Kilduff, age 87, a longtime resident of Reading and more recently of Peabody, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 17, 1937 in Malden, Adeline was the beloved daughter of Peter and Theresa DiBlasio. She graduated top of her class at Malden High School, then became the first in her family to attend a secondary school, graduating from Katharine Gibbs School in Boston. She pursued a professional career as an executive secretary before meeting a shy, charming G.I. from Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood.
"Addie" became the devoted wife to William F. Kilduff Jr., and together they shared 47 years of marriage filled with life's laughter, tears and Sunday family dinners. She was a loving mother to William, Michael, Sandra, Matthew and Kara. She was the adoring grandmother of Austin, Katelin, Bobby, Kevin, Luke, Phoebe, Aidan, Damien and Gavin, puttering around the region as Fan No.1 with a chair and a blanket in her Honda trunk to watch their baseball, soccer, hockey or football games.
Family was her nucleus, first in Malden with her parents and sisters, Dorothy and Theresa, next with her husband and sisters-in-law, Janet and Eleanor, before those Kilduff kids, and eventually her grandchildren were bursting from every room on the old Summer Ave ranch in Reading. Family was always her every thought.
When her own children had grown, Adeline returned to her own professional successes as an executive secretary, with iNatural Cosmetics and MassPort Capital Programs. She was irreplaceable at every job, nobody took dictation, typed faster and error-free on a par with Addie.
She found additional joy outside the family with a passion for cooking, gardening and the community of St. Agnes Parish in Reading. Addie was always down for a good Law & Order and NCIS marathon, cards with the good people of her new home at Brooksby Village, and keen on the Patriots when her Gronk was playing for them.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (corner of Rte. 28 and Park St.) on Friday, August 1, from 4-7 PM. A funeral mass celebrating Addie's life will take place at St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St., Reading, at 11 AM on Saturday, August 2. Interment will be at Wood End Cemetery, 33 Franklin St, Reading, directly after mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Adeline's name to Shapiro Cardiovascular Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Development Office, 263 Huntington Ave. #318, Boston, MA 02115. Memorial gifts can also be made online at www.bwhgiving.org
