Agostino Piazza of Stoneham died Sunday January 4, 2004 at Bear Hill Nursing Center, Stoneham, He was 92 years of age.
Born in Boston's North End on August 26, 1911, Agostino was the son of the late Cologero and Acurzia (Ciulla). He was an owner of Genoa Meat Packing Company in Cambridge and The House of Rothmund in Somerville. He was a member of the New England Wholesale Meat Dealers Association and New England Food Foundation.
Mr. Piazza was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council Ausonia, North End, and a Life Member of the Medford Boat Club and Thompson Country Club, Middleton. Agostino was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all.
Mr. Piazza was the husband of Filomena (Yebba) Piazza. They celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary November 21st. He was the loving father of Jeannie Piazza Zuniga and her husband Marlon of FL., Marie Greenhill of Stoneham and her late husband Frank J. and Charles Piazza and his wife Cecile of Woburn. Cherished grandfather of Rhonda Giguere and her husband Rod of Westbrook, ME., Nicole Greenhill of Reading, Matthew Piazza of FL., Daniel Piazza of Woburn and great grandfather of Jaimie and Jenna Giguere of Westbrook, ME.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church Thursday at 10 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday 3-7 p.m. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Donations in memory of Agostino may be made to the charity of your choice.
