Alan J. Bekkenhuis of Stoneham, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Winchester Hospital. He was 64 years of age.
Born in Everett, Alan was the loving son of the late Allen Bekkenhuis and Mary (Bois) Bekkenhuis. Alan was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.
Alan was a dedicated EMT for the City of Boston, having retired after 30 years. His family was first and foremost in his life.
Alan was the devoted husband of Janice (Irgens) Bekkenhuis. He was the devoted father of Allan Bekkenhuis and his wife Stephanie, Daniel Bekkenhuis and his wife Danielle, Lisa Bekkenhuis, Katie Bekkenhuis, Brian Ludemann and his wife Briana. Alan was the beloved grandfather of Ashley, Danny, Alex, Shaun, Aidan & Brady. He was the brother of Jack, Wayne, Paul, Larry & Stephen Bekkenhuis. Alan was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Tuesday from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants will be available.
