Alan J. Norris Sr.

Alan J. Norris Sr., of Stoneham, passed away suddenly after a long illness on Sunday, January 5, 2025, surrounded by family leaving behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and a spirit that touched all that knew him. He was 80 years of age. 

Alan was the son of the late Norman and Margaret (Coffey) Norris of Brookline, MA. Alan is the beloved husband of Ellen (Fratus) Norris. He is the cherished father of Alan Norris Jr. and his wife Cheryl and Kristine Norris and her husband Eric Spencer.  He is the loving grandfather of Rachel and Sarah Norris, Hailey and Alexis Spencer.  He is the dear brother of Brian Norris, the late Norman Norris Jr., Barbara Rapson, the late Janet Benson and the late Patricia Lanchester.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

While growing up in Brookline, MA, Alan graduated from Brookline High School and then served in the United States Army.  Following his time in the service, Alan spent over forty years working in the printing industry until his retirement.  Alan was a man of remarkable work ethic, unwavering kindness and known for his tireless dedication to his family and friends.  Alan was always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need and was there for everyone, no matter the time or the task. Some of Alan's greatest joys in life were spending time with his four grandchildren, attending their sporting events, collecting coins, traveling, and visiting the casino.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Monday January 13th, 2025, in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM from 8:30 am to 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Alan's Eternal Life in St. Joseph's Church 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
