Alban L. Bernard

Alban L. Bernard formerly of Reading, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Fairhaven Nursing Home in Lowell. He was 82 years of age.

Born on May 30, 1933 in Winsted, Connecticut, Alban was the loving son of the late Leandre Bernard and Aline (Labonte) Bernard. Alban was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Alban was a dedicated and loyal insurance adjuster for many years. He proudly defended our freedom by serving as a Sergeant in the United States Army.

Alban was the beloved husband of Jane (Lyons) Bernard. He was the devoted father of Elaine LePage Ware and her husband Ramon, Robert J. Bernard and his wife Michelle and Diane B. Simmons and her husband Scott. The cherished grandfather of William, Julie, Katherine, Colleen, Thomas and Alexandra. Alban was the dear brother of Conrad Bernard and his wife Josie, Therese Manack and her husband Ronald and the late Norman Bernard and his surviving wife Barbara. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Wednesday, December 2nd at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Alban's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10:30am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Tuesday, December 1st from 3:30-7:30pm. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, W. Roxbury.
