Alexander E. Copoulos, 94, of Peabody, Mass., passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2016 while surrounded by family.  Born in Lowell, Mass. to the late Bertha and Ernest Copoulos on November 21,1921, he is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Mrs. Dorothy A. Stilianos Copoulos, also of Peabody, his sons Ernest Copoulos of Peabody and Michael Copoulos of Hope Mills, NC, and daughter Jan-Margaret  Haseldine and husband Mike, of Annapolis, MD.  He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Crista Logan and husband Josh, Theadora and Eva Haseldine, great grand-child, Henry Logan, sister Pasy Magulas, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandson Alexander Joseph Copoulos and siblings, Nancy Priftakis, Irene Copoulos, Caliope "Poppy" Chrisos, Aphrodite "Blondie" Samora and George "Hooky" Copoulos.

Mr. Copoulos, fondly known as "Slip", grew up in Lynn, Mass. where he graduated from Lynn Classical High School.  Shortly thereafter he joined the Navy and served in the Pacific Rim during WWII.  He retired from the civil service in the mid 80s and has since enjoyed gardening, cooking (the best spanakopita ever), sports, reading and savoring a good cigar and a glass of red while spending time with family and friends. Mr. Copoulos was a lifelong Boston sports fan, avid golfer (had a birdie at every hole at Gannon), skier, Little League and football coach. He was also a lifelong member of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn, Mass where as a youth he played on the church basketball team.
