Alice M. (Roche) Ivers of Stoneham passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013 at her home. She was 87 years of age.
Alice was born on July 14, 1926 in Boston. She enjoyed family events, especially the holidays with her five children, thirteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Alice traveled for many years abroad with her husband. She was an avid reader and spent many hours knitting and crocheting. During World War II, she worked extensively with the USO in support of deploying troops. Alice retired after twenty years with New England telephone and was a life member of the pioneers.
Alice was the beloved wife of Charles E. Ivers. She was the devoted mother of Charles Ivers and his wife Barbara, Edward Ivers and his wife Nicole, James Ivers and his wife Margot, Catherine Davis, Daniel Ivers and his wife Denise. The cherished grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 5, Alice was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Alice's Eternal Life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10am in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 4-7pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
