Allan Purington, 62, of Woburn, formerly of Stoneham, passed away from a long and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday April 13 at his sister Anne's home in Haverhill surrounded by his family.
Allan was born on February 21, 1959. He was the son of the late Newell Purington and the late Ruth (McGowan) Purington. Allan was a graduate of Stoneham High School class of 1977. Allan was co-owner with his brother Kenny of Cable, Splicing, & Testing in Reading where Allan worked as a cable splicer for over 40 years.
Allan was always the life of the party. He loved gathering with family and friends. Nothing made him happier than a family barbeque with his girls and grandchildren. Allan loved attending concerts, sporting events or simply watching golf of TV.
Allan is survived by his "Girls" which were his pride and joy. Jessica Purington of Salem, Alyssa Korzeniowski and husband Mark of Billerica, Krissta Menzie and husband Tim of Haverhill and Tessa Purington of Whitman.
Allan leaves behind his grandchildren Halie, Ava, Kylie, Evan, Jackson and Lily. Allan was anxiously awaiting the birth of a grandson in August.
Allan is also survived by his brother Kenneth Purington and his wife Kristina of Reading and his sister Anne Bardelli and her husband David Bardelli of Haverhill. Allan also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents Newell and Ruth, his brother Robert Purington, his sister Mary Purington and his grandsons Logan and Colton Korzeniowski.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM on Monday April 19th, 2021 at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Allan's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery 96 Salem St. Haverhill MA.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with his family on Sunday April 18th, 2021 in the Funeral Home from 2 pm to 6 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available. Due to state regulations for Covid-19, a mask is required while in the funeral home as well as social distancing at all times.
