Amedeo A. "Tony" Cinganelli, of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2015. He was 83 years of age. Born in Somerville, Amedeo was the son of the late Augusto and Antoinette (Bacci) Cinganelli.
Amedeo was a gentle soul with a true appreciation of life and a great love of family. He positively impacted the lives of many and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Amedeo proudly defended our freedom as a soldier in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Amedeo was the beloved husband of Patricia M. (Walsh) Cinganelli. He was the devoted father of Wayne A. Cinganelli and his wife Loreen, Kathie A. DeCrescenzo and her husband Robert, Brian A. Cinganelli, and Debora A. Cinganelli and her husband Robert Lytle. He was the cherished Papa of Erica and her husband J.R. Covelle, Bobby and Joseph DeCrescenzo, Jessica and Nicholas Cinganelli, and Alex Lytle, and the Great Papa of Jude and ila Marie Covelle. Amedeo, also known as "Sonny" by his siblings, was the dear brother of Stella Uglietta and her late husband Pat, Jan Cinganelli and Cesare Cinganelli and his wife Susan. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, from 4-8pm in the funeral home. Handicapped elevator and parking attendants are available. Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street, (RT28), STONEHAM on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Amedeo's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham at 10am.. Interment with Military Honors will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
