Amelia M. Divergilio

October 18, 1912 — July 1, 2006

Amelia M. (DelVisco) DiVergilio of Reading passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Lahey Hitchcock Medical Center in Burlington. She was 93 years of age.





Born in Avellino, Italy, Amelia was the cherished daughter of the late Antonio DelVisco and Maria (Cirello) DelVisco. Amelia was a warm and caring daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend. She will be sorely missed.





Amelia came to America in February of 1920 on the Steamship Duca D'Aosta when she was 7 years old. She moved to Reading from Somerville in 1955 had lived in the town until 2006. Amelia was a dedicated employee at Ryack Coat Front from 1926 - 1982. She was a devoted member of St. Agnes Parish in Reading.





Amelia was a loving homemaker who enjoyed sewing and loved cooking. Everyone will miss her fabulous meatballs and pizzelles.





Amelia was the beloved wife of the late Peter DiVergilio. She was the devoted mother of Peter DiVergilio and his wife Linda J. of Wellborn, Florida. Amelia was the dear sister of the late Constantino "Gussie" DelVisco, Thomas DelVisco, Rose Corbosiero, Mary Ranieri, Eleanor DeDonato. She was also survived by 17 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and great nephews.





Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Thursday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Amelia's life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St.





Donations in memory of Amelia may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
