Angela DeLuca Pisa

September 9, 1937 — May 17, 2020

Angela DeLuca Pisa of Andover passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was 82 years of age.
Born on September 9, 1937 in Cicciano, Naples, Italy, Angela is the loving daughter of the late Bartolomeo DeLuca and Orsola (Menna) DeLuca. Angela is a warm, kind and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

An artist by nature, Angela was a gifted dressmaker. Starting at 8 years old, she made her own clothes. Growing up she learned the trade by watching her father who was a tailor. After immigrating to Pittsburgh, PA, she worked for 10 years as a senior dressmaker at Saks Fifth Avenue, where her clients included the Rockefeller, Mellon, and Heinz families. Her expertise in fine knit was especially valued, so much so that the store sent garments to her from New York and Boston. After moving to Tyler, TX, her dream of becoming a small business owner became a reality. For 14 years, she owned and operated Angela's Alterations & Dressmaking serving an exclusive 100+ clientele throughout East Texas. In particular, she became known for her couture work with gowns for the annual East Texas Rose Parade. In 1999, Angela and Tony, moved to Massachusetts to be near their daughters and grandchildren. Angela returned to Saks Fifth Avenue at the Boston Copley location from where she retired after four years; she continued her passion from home, serving many clients particularly in bridal work.

Angela enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. A devout Catholic, Angela appreciated beauty in all forms. She enjoyed visiting places near the ocean or the mountains where she could take in nature and enjoy long walks. In addition to her professional creative pursuits, Angela applied her talents and sensibilities in the kitchen and the garden. She loved cooking, baking, and gardening. She was also an avid fan of Napoli soccer and Patriots football teams. She loved watching her grandsons participate in sports and attended many of their baseball and football games as they were growing up. She took pride in all her children and grandchildren's accomplishments. Angela was the happiest when surrounded by family enjoying holidays, special meals, and quiet times.

Angela is the beloved wife of the late Antonio Pisa with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. She is the devoted mother of Mina Pisa, Rosaria Pisa and her spouse Linda Dunleavy, Ursula Nicholas and her husband John Nicholas, and Dr. Michelle Pisa and her spouse Danielle Daniel. Angela is the cherished Nonna of Christopher Nicholas and Matthew Nicholas. She is the dear sister of Victor DeLuca and his wife Nancy DeLuca, Tony DeLuca and his wife Joanne DeLuca, and Ciro DeLuca and his late wife Hilde DeLuca. Angela was predeceased by her siblings Armida DeLuca, Santina DeLuca, and Antonio DeLuca. She is also lovingly survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Our heartfelt thanks to her caregiver of over 3 years, Rosa Jimenez of Haverhill, MA. We additionally appreciate the care and companionship of several aides including Rosmeris, Maria Lara, Maria Italiana, Miguelina, and Debbie.
