Angelina T. (DePalma) Festino

Angelina T. (DePalma) Festino of Melrose, formerly of Stoneham and Medford, passed away on Thursday June 2, 2022 at age 96.

Angelina “Angie” was a generous and loving person who loved to be around people. She had many friends and in her younger years she enjoyed to entertain at her home often. She was an exceptional cook and baker and everyone loved to sit at her table for a great meal. Some of her other favorite pass times were playing cards and playing bingo with her friends.

But mostly, she was a dedicated mom, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. Nothing was more important to her than the well-being of her family. She loved the holidays when she got to spend time with her family and having everyone together. She especially loved Christmas Eve when all the grandchildren would decorate cookies for the annual Christmas Cookie Contest. It was up to “grandma” to pick the winning cookie and she took this task very seriously.

She will be greatly missed for so many reasons including her candid approach, her charismatic personality and the ability to keenly sense when something was bothering you. But mostly, she will be greatly missed for her unconditional love, warm generosity and kind spirit.

Angelina is the beloved wife of the late Joseph Festino. Devoted mother of Vincent J. Festino and his wife Angela, Marietta A. Malone and her husband Larry, Nancy L. Festino and her partner Douglas Dalton, Paula Talmanson and her husband Stephen and Angela M. Mandeville and her husband John. Cherished grandmother of Lauren, Brian, Michele, Danielle, Alyssa, Lisa, Nicole, Steven, Kristen, Gregory and Jeffrey. Doting great grandmother of 7. Dear sister of John DePalma and his wife Carol, the late Jack DePalma and his surviving wife JoAnn, the late Anthony DePalma and his surviving wife Jennie and the late Frank DePalma and his late wife Joye. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
