Angelo (Al) DiPrisco, of Stoneham, Massachusetts, passed away on April 17, 2023, at age 99.
Born in Boston on May 19, 1923 to Albert and Mary (DelTufo) DiPrisco. He was married to the late Theresa (Marinelli) DiPrisco. He survived later spouses, Connie, Paula and Phyllis. Angelo was devoted to his siblings, Frank DePrisco, Lillian Romano and the late Gloria DiPrisco.
He was a loving father to daughters and sons in law, Denise and David Commito, Diana and Peter Fisher, Mary DiPrisco and Claire and Peter Durgin as well as his grandchildren and their spouses, Peter and Brooke, Laura, Cara, Christina and Chad, Paul, Alex and Vanessa, Andrew and Rachel, Rachel and Michael. He was a proud great grandfather to ten great grandchildren; Cole, Eva, Luke, Rose, Cora, Conner, Andres, Amelia, Brielle, and Audrey and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army as a prison guard during WWII stationed in Germany, France and Norway. Following the war he became the N.E. sales representative for Pastene Company. Years later he joined his brother Frank and niece Donna as a gemologist at DePrisco Jewelers of Boston, working there until age 90.
He had a passion for singing and participated in the St. Patrick’s Parish choir. As an athletic young man he pitched for the Boston City Baseball League, also played and coached the Boston City/Roxbury Red Raiders football team. Later he pursued his life-long interest in golf.
He especially loved family gatherings and vacationing with family and friends on Cape Cod. He was a kind, spiritual, and generous man whose company everyone cherished.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Saturday April 22nd, 2023 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am in the Barile Family Funeral Home (RT28) STONEHAM followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Angelo's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Interment to follow at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
