Angelo Michele "Mike" Caggiano of Carlisle, formerly of Wakefield and Medford passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was 80 years of age.
Born on May 12, 1938 in Taurasi, Avellino, Italy, Mike is the loving son of the late Luigi Caggiano and Antonietta (Venezia) Caggiano. Mike is a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Mike is the beloved husband of the late Virginia "Gina" (Maffeo) Caggiano. He is the devoted father of Luigi Caggiano and his wife Lisa, Anthony Caggiano and his wife Maria and Victor Caggiano and his wife Amy. The cherished grandfather of Christina, Anthony, Roman and Celia, Mike is the dear brother of Ralph (predeceased), Gina, and Carmelina, of Italy. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A mason, Mike came to the United States in the late 1960s with Gina and settled in Medford. Raising three boys, Mike was active in youth soccer and could often be found on the sidelines of his son's games through high school. Mike loved to garden and enjoyed taking care of his plants and sharing his bounty with friends and neighbors. A true friend, Mike was always available to help others and formed many wonderful friendships over the years.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM, Monday, June 4th, 2018 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Mike's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Sunday, June 3rd, 2018 from 1-5pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
