Ann Marie Frost, 85, of Stoneham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026. Born on May 23, 1940, in Malden, Massachusetts, Ann had a genuine spirit, a wonderful sense of humor, and an inherent way of helping everyone enjoy the moment.
Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years, Floyd Frost. Together, they built their life in Stoneham, where they raised their four children in their home on Hancock Street. Their home was a gathering place for Little League registrations, St. Patrick’s Day cookouts, birthdays, Christmas celebrations, and more. Ann was a loving wife and grandmother and a proud member of the Stoneham community.
She is survived by her four sons: Robert and his wife Leslie, Michael and his wife Rosemary, Brian and his wife Keri, and Kevin and his wife Marisa. She went to the ends of the earth for her children and their families, and they will miss her every day.
Ann will also be deeply missed by her eight grandchildren: Daniel, Devlin, Riley, Lexie, Logan, Shea, Georgia, and Fallon. She was a fierce supporter of all of her grandchildren, their goals and always loved hearing updates on their successes to share with the world. She enjoyed showing off her grandkids around town, sharing stories, and passing on her wisdom. They will miss her sharp wit and unwavering love.
Ann was the first child born to James and Sarah Shea, who predeceased her. She is survived by her three siblings, Dennis and his wife Joyce, Eileen, and Mary. As they grieve the loss of their longest friend, they will cherish the many years spent together.
Ann attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School before transferring to Malden High School, where she met her high school sweetheart, Floyd, who could reliably be found on the basketball courts after school. Floyd was Ann’s date to her senior prom, and — just a few years later — they were back at St. Joseph’s exchanging their vows and beginning their life together. Their first home together was in Medford before they purchased their forever home in Stoneham.
In addition to being a devoted mother and homemaker, Ann worked for more than a decade at Augustine’s in Saugus, where she worked in the banquet room alongside family and friends, helping to make big events run smoothly and making people feel special on important days. Later she worked at the Unicorn Park complex in Stoneham. She also worked for the town of Stoneham as the receptionist at the Senior Center, where she found great joy in connecting members of the community to resources like health care and activities, or simply sharing a conversation and a laugh.
Ann will be remembered for the time she took to truly get to know people. Nothing made her day brighter than seeing or hearing from her sons, daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren, all of whom will miss her love and support deeply.
Family and friends will gather at Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street, Stoneham on Friday, January 16th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. A prayer service will immediately follow, after which we will move in procession to Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Lynnfield for a graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Ann’s memory to the Stoneham Senior Center, either through the online form or by sending a check payable to “Senior Center Friends of Stoneham, Inc.” to the Stoneham Senior Center at 136 Elm Street in Stoneham, MA 02180.
