Ann Rita Sibley

December 22, 1920 — August 4, 2009

Ann Sibley of Stoneham, formerly of Malden, passed away on Tuesday August 4, 2009. She was 88 years of age.



Ann was born in Somerville, Massachusetts to Julia and Maurice MacGraham on December 22, 1920. She trained as a journalist at Boston University, and worked as a reporter on several newspapers, beginning in Somerville and continuing on to newspapers in Connecticut and California. Later in life, Ann became a librarian, and worked for 25 years in the Malden Public Library.



Ann lived in Stoneham during retirement, and participated for many years in activities of the Stoneham Senior Center, in the Red Hats, and in book clubs. Ann enjoyed arts of all types, and took pleasure in performances at the Stoneham Theatre and in exhibits at the Peabody Essex Museum.



Ann is remembered with great love by her sister Helen "Betty" Caulfield; by her three children: L.D. Love of Stoughton, William "Bill" Love of Eureka, California, and Diana Collins of Washington, D.C.; and by her seven grandchildren: Amy Collins of Illinois; Eric Love, Julia Sheehan, and Kevin Love of Massachusetts; Rebecca Collins and Graham Collins of New York; and Peter Collins of Washington, D.C.



Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the family Saturday from 3-4 pm followed by a Funeral Service Celebrating Ann's Life at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM.
