Obituary

Anna "Nina" Falco, beloved wife of the late Michael Falco, passed away on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading, after an illness of Multiple System Atrophy. She was surrounded by her loving family. She and Mike were born in Corato, Bari, Italy; however met later on in the U.S.

Nina came to the U.S. from Italy in 1965. Through her brother Aldo and sister-in-law Josephine, she met her husband Michael. They married in 1968 and began their beautiful life together.

Nina and Mike established the landmark business, Burlington Cold Cut Center, and proudly operated it for 30 years. To Nina, all of her customers and everyone who worked there were her second family. When they were ready to retire, they sold the business to their daughter Grace and her husband John to carry on the family business. Nina decided she wasn't ready to be at home full-time and continued working with John. Over the years, they were fortunate to work with Nina's sister, Lisa, and Mike's sister, Josephine, their grandchildren, and during the holidays, John's dad as well. There is nothing as special as working with family.

Nina greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She and Mike helped care for them while Grace and John worked, and those memories will be cherished forever. She also enjoyed being with her siblings and family they got together most Saturdays, and she treasured her time at her Long Beach home in Rockport, MA. A proud day for Nina was on December 6, 2007, at the age of 63, she became a United States Citizen.

During the last few years, Nina's illness did not let her travel far from home. She moved in with her daughter Noreen, and there is infinite gratitude to Noreen for devoting her full-time to care for her mom, to Nina's brother, sister, sister in-law, nieces and nephews, and care takers Nancy McCarthy and Julie Lin for all their time spent with her and their loving care. You all brightened her days. A special thank you to each of you, as well as the nurses and staff at the Sawtelle Hospice House.

Nina was the devoted mother of Grace Buckley and her husband John of North Reading, and Noreen Falco of Stoneham. Cherished grandmother of Nicole and Drew Buckley.

Loving sister of Franca DiModugno, Elisa Tortora, Joseph Masciave and his wife Carmela, the late Aldo Masciave and his late wife Josephine, and the late Rosa Moccia and her husband Victor. Beloved sister-in-law of Antoinette Calitri and the late Louise Calitri. She is the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews and also leaves her in-laws John and Patricia Buckley and their family.
