Obituary

Anna Santarlasci, of Andover, passed away on Monday, January 24th, 2022 with her family by her side.

Born in Boston on November 25, 1922, she grew up in the North End. Her parents, the late Joseph and Maria (Cappello) Causi, immigrated to the United States from Sicily. When she married her late husband Elmer, they settled in Andover to raise their sons. She enjoyed camping with her tight-knit family, and even after her husband passed away in 1977, she continued to go by herself to the Grand View Camp Grounds every summer until she was 95 years old. Fiercely independent, Anna loved to travel and was always ready travel at a moment's notice. She was also deeply devoted to her faith. For many years, Anna worked at the St. Augustine School, managing the cafeteria until her retirement at the age of 79. An active member of the St. Augustine Parish in Andover, she was a Eucharistic minister and volunteered her time with charity work. She also worked for many years at the Bread and Roses Food Kitchen in Lawrence.

Anna was the devoted mother of Vincent Santarlasci and his wife Robin of Newton and of Joseph Santarlasci and his wife Gail of Fort Lauderdale and Newburyport. Cherished grandmother of Andrea Santarlasci of Austin, Texas, Jeffrey Santarlasci of Taiwan, Elizabeth Santarlasci of Houston, Texas, Kathleen Dodge and her husband Steve of Newburyport, and Susan Earley and her husband Tim of Derry, New Hampshire. Loving great-grandmother of Nina and Nicole Milone, Liam Hickey, Erin Tennis, and Morgan Santarlasci. Beloved sister of the late Salvatore Causi and the late Vita "Minnie" Monaco.  She was also aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.

Her greatest joy came from her family and friends.  Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She will be deeply missed by her family and the lives of those she touched.

Services for Anna will be held privately with a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
