Anne Louise Corapi-Brahmer

d. January 21, 2021

Anne Louise Corapi-Brahmer of Arlington passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at age 79. She is the beloved wife of Geoffrey Brahmer and the late Liborio Corapi.

Anne is full of grace, much light and love. An old soul —ever young, but eternally caring and wise— Anne affects deeply everyone she meets. She is an ever-giving fountain of life. Anne is an inspiration to all who know her.

A dedicated mother and grandmother, always loving, outspoken, passionate and fierce, Anne is a former statewide President of the Alliance for Mental Illness of Massachusetts. In her position she helped establish unannounced citizens monitoring of every inpatient facility in Massachusetts, pass anti-discrimination laws, worked to educate the public about the stigma of mental illnesses and advocated for the mentally ill in the legislature, the Governor's office, and in all sectors of society.

A person of great integrity, mystery and beauty, Anne is like a rare, pink-purple lotus, ever opening out of a dark and muddy swamp. Anne shines brightly, both in life and death, like a precious and brilliant beacon of light in the night. Bringing much joy, hope, awareness and light to others, Anne's blessedness and beauty will outlive her, extending on to future generations. She will always be remembered as she lived —a blessed soul of extraordinary grace, compassion, and love. Anne is now fire and starlight, ocean and rain, and also the clouds that float in the ever-changing sky. She will ever walk among the living, and she will be greatly missed.

Anne is the devoted mother of Michael Corapi and his wife Valerie, Rocco Corapi, Richard Corapi and his wife Donna, Stephen Corapi and Christine Corapi. The loving Grandmother of Andrea and Tyler Rhodes, Karla and Benjamin Quick, Lewis and Kristen Corapi, Olivia, Matthew, Andrew, Michelle, Kevin and Sofia, Anne is the loving Great Grandmother of Charlie and Amelia Quick, Siena and Stella Rhodes, and Vasile Corapi. Anne is the sister of Patricia (McDonald) Sullivan, Margaret (McDonald) Gray, Jackie (McDonald) Storm and the late Santi Rigano and Joseph McDonald.
