Anne L. (Grimaldi) DeCola

Anne L. (Grimaldi) DeCola formerly of Stoneham, Massachusetts and Naples, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 4, 2024. She was 89 years old.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Anne was the loving daughter of the late Albert Grimaldi and Elvera (Lampignano) Grimaldi – Bove and stepdaughter of Amato Bove. Anne was a warm, kind, and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Nicholas DeCola. Anne and Nick just recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 21, 2024. Anne was the devoted mother of Patricia Prior and her husband Richard, Pamela Federico and her husband Rick, Peter DeCola and his wife Elise, Paula Donahue and her husband Joseph, the late Paul DeCola and his wife Lisa. The cherished grandmother of Alycia DeCola, Michelle Prior-Kelly and her husband Ronan, Melanie Prior, Thomas Prior, Anthony Federico, Nicholas Federico, Paul Federico, Robert Federico and his wife Rachel, Emma DeCola, Sofia DeCola, Victoria Donahue, Isabelle Donahue, and Joseph Donahue. Anne was the dear sister Robert Grimaldi and his wife Martha. She was also the loving aunt of Marc Grimaldi, his wife Marisa and their children Christian and Leo. 

Anne grew up in Medford, Massachusetts. She has since lived with her family in Lynn and Stoneham, Massachusetts and in Naples, Florida. Anne worked as a nurse’s aide, became a medical assistant and eventually worked for Tufts University in the admissions department before retiring to winters in Florida and summers by the pool in Stoneham. Wherever Anne lived, she had a wide group of friends and family around and she always made sure there was more than enough laughter, good times, and plenty of food. 

Wake: Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Anne’s family on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 4-7pm at Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) Stoneham. Parking attendants and elevator are available. 

Funeral: Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 9am followed by a funeral mass celebrating Anne’s eternal life in Saint Patrick’s Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham at 10am. 

Internment: Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham immediately following the funeral.
