Anthony J. Belmont of Stoneham passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at his home. He was 72 years of age.





Born in Boston, Anthony was the loving son of the late Luigi Belmont and Elizabeth (Peluso) Belmont. Anthony was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sorely missed.





Anthony was a dedicated truck driver for many years. A devout Catholic, his first priority was his God, second came his family. Anthony had a passion for model railroad trains. He also loved to travel by railroad. He was a devoted employee at St. Patrick Parish in Stoneham.





Anthony loved his family. They were first and foremost in his life. He was especially proud of his six children. He enjoyed going to Barnicle Billy's where he celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with his family. He like spending time at Castle Island with his bride. Anthony will be remembered as a man who loved his family, deeply, lived heartily, and a great man who also loved his food.





Anthony was the beloved husband for 50 years of Jean M. (Nephew) Belmont. He was the devoted father of Jean E. Langston and her husband Leonard of Texas, Anthony L. Belmont and his wife Ellen of Las Vegas, Matthew J. Belmont and his partner Steven Gilman of San Francisco, Michelle M. Sharp of North Andover, Mary E. Soller and her husband Eric of North Carolina and Amy P. LaCasse and her husband Steven of Plymouth. Anthony was the cherished grandfather of 6 and great grandfather of 1. He was the dear brother of the late Mildred Lois and Philip Belmont. Anthony was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.





Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Anthony's life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Saturday 3-7pm & Sunday 2-6pm. Parking attendants will be available. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
