Anthony P. Ghergurovich of Stoneham passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was 54 years of age.
Born on June 16, 1965, Anthony was the loving son of Yolanda (Vukosa) Ghergurovich and the late Giuseppe Ghergurovich. Anthony was the beloved husband of Kristen (Armstrong) Ghergurovich. He was the devoted and cherished father of Anthony Jr., Robert, Joseph and Julia. He was the dear brother of John Ghergurovich and Frank Ghergurovich. Anthony is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a giving and generous friend to many. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Anthony grew up in East Boston. He attended East Boston Central Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Dom Savio Prep School with the class of 1983. In 1987, Anthony graduated from Villanova University. After graduating college, he started his own business, Anthony's Hardwood Floors which he owned and operated successfully for over 30 years. In 2001, he married Kristen (Armstrong) Ghergurovich. They welcomed triplet sons Anthony Jr., Robert and Joseph in 2003 and were blessed again with the birth of their daughter Julia in 2008.
Anthony was a devoted father who loved watching his kids play hockey and going on vacations to Disney. Anthony loved to cook almost as much as he loved to eat. He was known for his famous chicken soup that he enjoyed giving to friends and family in enormous quantities, even in August. He enjoyed having parties at his oversized pool and always made sure there was at least 10 times the amount of food that anyone could possibly eat.
Anyone who had ever met Anthony knew that he was one in a million, but unfortunately it was a rare one in a million disease that was his cause of death. He went to the hospital on August 30 and was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Goodpasture syndrome. Unfortunately he never left the hospital.
