Anthony Petruzzi

January 23, 1918 — June 10, 2019

Anthony Petruzzi, Jr. of Mashpee formerly of Stoneham, loving husband of the late Margaret (Monteforte) Petruzzi, passed Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. Born in Everett, he is the son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Caprio) Petruzzi.

Anthony grew up in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Anthony moved to Stoneham in 1957 and raised his family. He moved to the Cape in 1973. He owned and operated Red Top Transportation and after his retirement, he worked as the maintenance supervisor for New Seabury Corp. in Mashpee. Anthony was an active member of Christ the King Parish in Mashpee. He volunteered his time at church being an usher and at Bingo. He also assisted with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Anthony has a vast number of friends. He enjoyed spending time with his buddies at Southport playing Texas hold'em, Poker, Gin Rummy, Cribbage and Bocce. Anthony was loved by many people including his devoted family.

He is the Devoted Father of Christine Wainer and her husband Michael and Carol Lyons. Cherished grandfather of Christopher Wainer and his wife Erica, Alison Musci, Brian Lyons and his fiancée Mary Hart. Great grandfather of Claire and Ian Wainer and Matthew and Samantha Musci. Loving brother of Frances Curry and the late Carmella Vetrano and the late Linda Rossi, along with uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories at the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (Rt. 28) STONEHAM on Thursday June 13th from 4 to 8pm. Parking attendants and elevator are available.

A Funeral Mass Celebrating Anthony's Eternal Life will be held at Christ the King Parish, 3 Job's Fishing Rd., Mashpee, on Friday June 14th at 10:30am.

Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Monday June 17th at 10:15 am.
