Antonio A. Teixeira, of Stoneham, formerly of Cumberland Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 25th, 2021. He was 95 years of age.
Born in Pawtucket Rhode Island, Antonio was the son of the late Antonio and Maria Teixeira. Antonio was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Antonio is the beloved husband of Alice (Pereira) Teixeira. He is the loving father of Michael Teixeira and his wife Teresa, Mary Heinold and her husband Dean, and the late Manuel Teixeira, David Teixeira, and Christine Wendell. Cherished grandfather of Ray, Chloe, Anna, Ryan, Daniel, and Kyle. Dear brother of Mary Teixeira, Louis Teixeira, Mario Teixeira, and the late Armand Teixeira, Manuel Teixeira, Irene Bogan, Hilda Spears and Aurora Duarte. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Antonio was a proud family man and loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren. When the kids were young, there were many sleepovers at Grandma and Poppy's house. The grandkids still talk about these sleepovers, and how Grandma would make chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Poppy was very proud in attending any and all graduations, plays, and sports events involving the grandkids.
He also loved trucks and trains. He had driven a truck his whole life, and still loved riding in his truck until shortly before his death. He also loved model trains and had an extensive setup in his basement.
Antonio was a big sports fan, and he especially loved baseball. He was a Yankees fan, and he enjoyed watching Yankees games until just a few days before he passed.
Rest in peace Poppy.
