Arline M. (Miller) Brush of Reading passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2003 at Wingate at Reading Nursing Home in Reading. She was 80 years of age.
Born in Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Harry B. Miller and Anna (Lee) Miller. She was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all.
Arline attended and graduated from the Columbia University School of Dental Hygiene. She enjoyed flying small planes and fishing. She was a high school basketball player who loved the outdoors. She enjoyed antiques and collectibles. She loved quilts. Arline was very active in social activities in Wingate Nursing Home.
Arline was the beloved wife of the late Howard Brush. She was the devoted mother of Jeffrey H. Brush and his wife Shirley of Wilmington, Joel M. Brush and his wife Karen of Saugus, Joan A. Hoyt and her husband Richard of Reading, Barbara A. Russo and her husband Bernie of Burlington. Arline was the cherished grandmother of Michelle R. Brush, Alanna S. Brush, Ryan P. Brush, Lindsey A. Hoyt, Dana O. Hoyt, Miranda R. Russo, and Evan C. Russo, the dear sister of the late H. Lee Miller of NY and the loving cousin of Mary Elizabeth Shockley of Poughkeepsie, NY. Arline was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10am in the chapel of the Old South United Methodist Church 6 Salem St. Reading. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Sunday 3-7pm in the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Donations in memory of Arline may be made to Resident Council at Wingate Nursing Home, 1364 Main St. Reading. Arline's family would like to sincerely thank her extended family at Wingate Nursing Home.
