Arthur A. DiDonatis of Wakefield passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017. He was 95 years of age.
Born on April 30, 1922 in Wakefield, Arthur was the loving son of the late Nicholas DiDonatis and Elizabeth (Benedetto) DiDonatis. Arthur was a warm and caring son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A member of the "Greatest Generation," Arthur proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Army during World War II. Arthur served in the 36th Infantry Division and was seriously wounded during the Battle of Monte Cassini in Italy. He retired as a Foreman for the Town of Wakefield Highway Department.
Arthur was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen M. (Visocchi) DiDonatis. He was the devoted father of Arthur A. DiDonatis Jr. and his wife Caroline. The cherished grandfather of Sarah, Jennifer and Richard DiDonatis, Arthur was the dear brother of the late Anna DiDonatis and Anthony DiDonatis and his wife Nell.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Arthur's Eternal Life will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11am in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Tuesday, September 5th from 6-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
