Martha E. (Thompson) Avery of Reading passed away on Monday March 29, 2004 at her home in Reading.
Born in Chicopee, Martha was a lifelong resident of Reading. She was the daughter of the late John Thompson and Martha (Sullivan) Thompson. Martha was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all.
Martha was a dedicated homemaker for many years. Her family was first and foremost in her life.
Martha was the beloved wife of the late Richard D. Avery. She was the devoted mother of Marsha Avery of Reading, Cheryl D. Wohl and her husband Stephen of Billerica, Jill DiVito and her husband James of Nashua, New Hampshire. Martha was the cherished grandmother of Stephen Wohl Jr., Richard Wohl, Kristi Wohl, and Cheryl K. Wohl, James DiVito, Anthony DiVito and Angela DiVito. She was the dear sister of Jerry Irish of Wyoming, and the late Jack Thompson and Betty Ashline.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10am in the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Thursday 4-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Reading.
