(Ceppa) Halecki
July 5, 1947 – October 18, 2024
Barbara M. Halecki, beloved wife of 54 years to John W. Halecki, passed away on Friday October 18, 2024, with her loving family at her side. Born in Binghamton, New York, she is the loving daughter of the late Casmir and Casmira (Piotrowski) Ceppa.
Barbara grew up in Johnson City, New York and was a graduate of Johnson City High School. She earned her Bachelor of Computer Science Degree from State University of New York at Oswego. Barbara married the love of her life, John, and lived in Pennsylvania and eventually settling in Andover in 1984 to raise their two boys. For many years, Barbara worked as a financial analyst supporting the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense.
A dedicated hockey Mom, Barbara could be enthusiastically heard cheering on her boys in the rinks at every game. She was the biggest cheerleader, and it was her greatest joy to experience Scott and Chris play high school and college hockey. Barbara and John traveled extensively to watch them play. When Barbara wasn't at the ice rink she could be found cooking a great meal for her family.
Her fighting spirit remained as she was diagnosed with Parkinsons. Barbara gallantly fought the battle and will be remembered for her no nonsense and strong will. Barbara will be deeply missed by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
In addition to being the wife of John, she is the devoted mother of Scott A. Halecki and his wife Katie of Middleton and Christopher J. Halecki and his wife Jennifer of Ipswich. She is the cherished grandmother of Will and Griff Halecki of Middleton and Jayden, Emma, and John Halecki of Ipswich. Loving sister of Marlene Yanus and her husband Paul of Underhill Center, Vermont, and the late Dan Ceppa. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Friday, October 25th, 2024, from 2 to 4:30pm.
Following the visitation, a funeral service will be celebrated for Barbara at 4:30pm in the Funeral Home.
