Barbara P. (Gangi) Greenleaf

Barbara P. (Gangi) Greenleaf of Stoneham passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023.  She was 88 years of age.

Born on Saturday, June 15, 1935 in Boston, Barbara was the loving daughter of the late Michael Gangi and Lillian (Gravina) Gangi.  Barbara was a warm, kind & gentle daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who will be truly missed.

Barbara is the beloved wife of the late Charles Greenleaf whom she was happily married to for 59 years. She is the devoted mother of Kim Harding and her late husband Mark and Scott Greenleaf and his wife Melissa.  She was the cherished grandmother of Ryan Harding and his wife Tatyana, Megan Harding and Thomas Greenleaf. In August of 2023, Barbara became a great grandmother to Isla Harding.  She is the dear sister of Michael Gangi Jr., Ann-Marie Kenney, Denise Winters and the late Robert Gangi and the late Charles Gangi.  Barbara is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

There are no perfect words to describe a woman as strong, empowered, and determined as Barbara Greenleaf. She is the ultimate matriarch of her family and her legacy of family and tradition will live on forever. Her family and friends will remember her for great cooking skills and ability to make everyone around her table feel welcomed and loved. 

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM on Thursday, December 14th at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Barbara’s Eternal Life in Saint Joseph’s Church, 173 Albion Street Wakefield at 10am.  Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Barbara’s Family on Wednesday, December 13th from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home.  Parking attendants and elevator are available.  Interment Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
