Barbara Jean (Scholl) Graczyk of Quincy, formerly of Stoneham passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. She is 66 years of age.
Born on June 17, 1955 in Cambridge, Barbara is the loving daughter of Jean (Gillis) Scholl and her late husband William. Barbara is a kind, warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed.
As described by those who knew her, Barbara always led with kindness and generosity. She was a woman of exemplary character and a role model to many who knew her. During her 35 year career as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Brigham and Women's Hospital, her patients and colleagues knew her for her compassion, calming presence, and gentle nature. Beyond her career, Barbara had a passion for continued learning and education. She went back to school and graduated with a Masters of Science in Nursing in 2016 and was always looking to expand her perspective. In recent years she was able to travel and visit her children in Japan and Hong Kong, which she enjoyed greatly. A person of many interests, Barbara was a lover of the arts and an enthusiastic member of the Melrose Running Club. As a mother, Barbara was unmatched in her selfless care, guidance and love. She was an example of exceptional strength and perseverance. Her children are grateful to remember their parent's loving marriage filled with humor and mutual respect. Dedicated to her family and friends, Barbara was happiest when she was surrounded by the people she loved most.
Barbara is the beloved wife of the late Ken Graczyk. She is the devoted mother of Laura Markarian and her husband Stephen, Jill Graczyk and her husband Reed Apfelbaum and Kenny Graczyk and caring stepmother of Emily Perkins and her husband Adam. The dear sister of William Scholl and his wife Sheila and Debra Mello, Barbara is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends and her beloved dog, Maisie.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM, Monday, September 20th at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Barbara's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Barbara's Family on Sunday, September 19th from 2-5pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available and everyone entering the funeral home must wear a face covering regardless of vaccination status.
