Barbara M. (Fuller) Port of Reading passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. She is 92 years of age.
Barbara was born on Thursday, May 2, 1929 in Haverhill, the daughter of the late Walter Fuller and Cecile (Fournier) Fuller. Barbara is a warm, kind and gentle daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be truly missed.
Barbara was the loving force that turned the house her husband Donald built into a home. She was the cupcakes that would often surprise her son Glenn when he came home from school. Barbara was the person who made sure her child always arrived at the millions of appointments that children tend to have. She was the blanket tucked under your chin and the cup of hot chocolate when you were cold or sick.
Barbara was the heartwarming scent of an elaborate holiday meal being created. While the rest of the family took it easy on holidays, Barbara was an orchestra conductor in the kitchen, resting only when the family had been fed, and strawberry shortcake had been delivered for dessert.
Barbara loved being in the company of her friends Gay and Lucy, whether it was getting her hair done with Gay or just chatting with Lucy over the backyard fence. Just don't call her on the phone, especially during a Red Sox game.
Barbara's caring nature extended beyond her human family to the menagerie of squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits that called her backyard home. They were all her children, and they sensed that she was a kind enough soul that they would take food from her hand.
The world is a colder, lesser place now that you're not here Mom. Love you forever. Rest in peace.
Barbara is the beloved wife of Donald F. Port who recently passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. She is the devoted mother of Glenn Port. The cherished grandmother of Courtney Solomito and her husband David, Barbara is the doting great grandmother of Blair Solomito.
