Barbara R. (Killam) DeFlumeri of Stoneham and Lynn, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 surrounded by family.
Born in Lynn, Barbara was the loving daughter of the late Charles E. Killam and Margaret (Moison) Killam. Barbara was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Family and friends were Barbara's passion and delight. She loved to host and organize family gatherings for the holidays and birthdays. She was an excellent cook and delighted in feeding people whether they were hungry or not. Barbara loved children and went out of her way to be involved with all of her grandchildren who knew her as Nana.
Animals had a special place in her heart. She would care for homeless cats and when needed take them into her home. Even squirrels, raccoons and birds experienced her caring. She always found time to enjoy watching the wildlife in her backyard.
When not caring for her family and animals, Barbara loved shopping for clothes and gifts for her loved ones. She also enjoyed dining out and traveling abroad with her husband.
Barbara was the beloved wife of Robert A. DeFlumeri. She was the devoted mother of Robin A. Brown and her husband Kevin, Robert A. DeFlumeri Jr. and his wife Claudia Hofmann, Cheryl D. Piaseczynski and her husband Richard and the late Scott Dana and his surviving wife Diane. The cherished grandmother of Margaret and Samuel Dana, Stephen, Rebecca, Christopher and Michael Brown, Clara and Charlotte DeFlumeri, Emma and John Piaseczynski, Barbara was the dear sister of Charlotte Killam and the late Charles E. Killam Jr.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Barbara's Eternal Life will be held on Monday, May 16th at 11am in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Sunday, May 15th from 2-5pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Brookside Cemetery, Boxford.
