Benedetto "Benny" Luigi Salamone of Burlington, formerly of Stoneham, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, just one day shy of his 94th birthday.
Ben was born on Monday, April 21,1930 in East Boston. He grew up in Everett, graduating from Everett High School. Ben was the loving son of the late Louis Salamone and Mary (Rizzo) Salamone. Ben was a complex, but kind & gentle son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed.
A proud US Veteran, Ben served in the Army in the Korean War. After, he went to Mass School of Pharmacy to become a pharmacist. For a short time, he owned a corner store-pharmacy in Everett, where he was well known. Most of his career was working for Bristol-Meyers Squibb, where he was often recognized as one of the best salesmen in the Northeast Region. He had a long and successful career with the company.
Ben is survived by his children: Christopher Salamone, Stephen Salamone, Renee Simonetti and her husband John, and Louis Salamone. The grandfather of Brittani Cruz, Danielle Salamone, Sam Salamone, Toni Salamone, Talia Salamone, Rachel Simonetti, Rebecca Simonetti & John Simonetti. He was the dear brother of the late Estelle Bertolino. He also leaves behind his beloved golden retriever Maggie, who now happily resides with his daughter.
As an avid animal lover, Ben had several dogs that stole his heart over the years. He donated to several different animal charities for many years, always wanting to help the unfortunate animals in need of care. Later in life, he had a real love for pizza and beer, often enjoying them daily.
