Betty M. (Fowler) Carlson, 87, of Stoneham Massachusetts went to be with the Lord on Friday May 7, 2010 after living for 12 years with Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Abington, MA, Betty Carlson was the daughter of the late Ruth and Clyde Fowler. She met and married her beloved high school sweetheart Richard Carlson Sr.
Betty enjoyed playing golf, camping, and being involved in church ministeries. She was known for her gift as a seamstress. She was a devoted mother who found joy in being surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband, Richard G. Carlson Sr., sons Richard G. Carlson Jr., and wife Peggy, Douglas Paul Carlson and wife Lorraine; daughters Deborah Jean Carlson and Joyce Lyn Ellsmore and husband Keith. She was the cherished grandmother of Kara Guida, Richard Carlson III, Shawn Carlson, Krysta Carlson, Jaclyn Carlson, Melanie Carlson, Leanne Bleu, Christine Ellsmore, and Kara Lyn Ellsmore. She had 7 great grandchildren. Her daughter Sherrilyn Carlson preceded her in death.
A private family burial will be held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery (Abington, MA) on Tuesday May 11, 2010. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association; 311Arsenal Street; Watertown, MA; 02472.
