Blanche V. Koptuck passed away February 7, 2015 at the age of 94 at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston of associated causes due to a stroke she suffered in July 2009. She was born in Claremont, NH on September 5, 1920 to the late John and Josefa Koptuck of Reading where she was raised and was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of '38.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Freda Doherty of Reading, her brother and sister-in-law, Anthony E. and Margaret E. Koptuck of Danvers, two nephews, Paul Doherty of Wakefield and John Doherty of Reading and one niece, Patricia Johanson and her husband, Robert, of Haverhill. In addition, she leaves a grand-niece, Jill Stevenson and her husband Christopher, and their children, Elle and Eric of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Adrian Doherty.
Prior to her stroke, Blanche enjoyed residency at the Tanner Village in Reading where she was well cared for by the capable staff who provided her with great comfort and independent living.
Blanche was an ardent Catholic and shared her religious beliefs with family and friends throughout her entire life. She was an avid reader and passed many pleasant hours at a variety of available local libraries.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours at the Doherty-Barile Funeral Home, 11 Linden Street, Reading, MA on Tuesday, February 17th at 10:30am followed by a memorial service in the funeral home at 11:30am. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available.
