Calvin Henry Bowker

Calvin H. Bowker, Jr., 52, of Stoneham, passed away peacefully at his brother's home on November 18th. He was born in Winchester on September 18, 1962 the son of Elizabeth Louise Bowker and Calvin Henry Bowker, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Bowker of Winchester; brother George Bowker and his wife Kim of Southborough, MA; brother Andrew Bowker and his wife Jacqueline of W. Chicago, IL; sister Kathryn Bowker Haber and her husband Mark of Denver, CO; half sister Julia Bowker of Cambridge, MA. Also, 13 nieces and nephews: Brad and Adam Whitman; Lauren, Brittany and Nick Bowker; Drew, Nicole and Clea Bowker; Rachel, Tess, Harry, Luke and Jake Haber. Calvin is predeceased by his father, Calvin H. Bowker, Sr. and sister, Deborah Bowker Whitman.

Calvin grew up in Winchester and graduated from Winchester High School in 1980. He was the co-owner of Ruggles and Bowker Sports Center in Winchester for almost a decade. Calvin worked for many years as an Account Manager at Lightbridge and most recently as a Manager of Account Services at Genesys. He will be dearly missed by his colleagues.

Calvin will be remembered as a kind and generous man with a deep love and dedication for his family and friends. He always enjoyed sharing a nice meal and glass of wine with those closest to him. Calvin was an avid sports fan, the Red Sox being his particular favorite. He was well known for his prompt arrival and departure, quick wit and great sense of humor.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 4-7pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available. A Memorial Service celebrating Calvin's life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 in Crawford Memorial Church, 34 Dix Street, Winchester, MA 01890 at 11:00am.
