Carmella J. (DeVasto) Galeno of Waltham, passed away on Wednesday January 9, 2002 at the Deaconess Waltham Hospital. She was 84years of age.
Mrs. Galeno born and raised in Cambridge, lived in Arlington for many years and most recently in Waltham. She was an office supervisor for John Hancock Insurance Company before retiring.
Carmella enjoyed sewing, crafts and especially gourmet cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Her family and friends were foremost in her life.
Mrs. Galeno was the wife of Joseph Galeno and is survived by her daughter Marie Galeno of Waltham. She was the sister of Anna Vaudo of Somerville, great aunt of Patricka Krause of Plymouth, sister-in-law of Giannina Granata of Arlington, Cosmo Galeno of Wareham, Erasmo Galeno of Italy and the late Alessandro, Erasmina, Antonino and Guido Galeno. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
A Funeral Mass was held in Our Lady Comforter Afflicted Church 857 Trapelo Road, Waltham on Monday January 14, 2002 at 10 a.m. Interment was in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
