Carmine Aldorasi

March 12, 1923 — July 8, 2021

Carmine Aldorasi of Somerville passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Winchester Hospital. He was 98 years of age.

Born on March 12, 1923 in Gesualdo, Avellino, Italy, Carmine is the loving son of the late Giovanni Aldorasi and Angela (Savino) Aldorasi. Carmine is a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Carmine lived on a farm where he worked hard living off the land surrounded by loving family and friends. This is where he developed his life-long talents and values of working hard with his hands and using whatever he had available to build and create something beautiful and amazing out of what otherwise would seem impossible.

Carmine decided to come to the U.S. in search of his American Dream as well as to work with his uncle Nicola. Uncle Nicola was thrilled and took him in as a son since he had no children of his own. Through a mutual acquaintance, Carmine met Anna who eventually became his wife. They were married on January 19, 1958 and had three loving children, Angela, Laura, and John.

Carmine was a dedicated employee of the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston for 35 years. Some of his hobbies included tending to his vegetable garden in the summer, woodworking projects, and had an avid interest in science. Favorite memories included family outings to Revere and Nantasket Beach. In the summer of 1975, Carmine took his family to Italy so they could experience the culture and traditions where he was born. Carmine instilled the importance of family values, education, and strong work ethics to his children and grandchildren. He was well liked and respected by all that were lucky enough to get to know and meet him.

Carmine is the beloved husband of Anna (Pieroni) Aldorasi. He is the devoted father of Angela Bottaro and her husband Carmelo, Laura Napoli and her husband Joseph and John Carmen Aldorasi and his wife Annie. The cherished grandfather of Diana Condon and her husband Sean, Lisa Napoli and her fiancé Thomas Shaffer, Salvatore Bottaro and his fiancé Allie Kimball, Nick Napoli, Alyssa Aldorasi and John Aldorasi, Jr., Carmine is the doting great grandfather of Juliana and Annabelle Condon. He is the dear brother of the late Raffaela Aldorasi and her late husband Michele and the late Nicola Aldorasi and his late wife Clementina Savignano. Carmine is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
