Carmine A. Guida

Dr. Carmine A. Guida, of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Bear Hill Nursing Home. He was 86 years of age.



Born in Everett, Carmine was the son of the late Carmine D. Guida and Katherine (DiVenuti) Guida. Carmine was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was very proud of his grandchildren and loved to be with them as much as he could. He will be missed by all.

Carmine was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Scarpa) Guida for 57 years. He was the cherished father of Paul, Mark, and the late Richard, and the father in law of Michael, Rachel, and Marie. He was the loving grandfather of Adriana, Alyssa, Jess, Dexter, and Abigail. Dear brother of the late Robert Guida and his surviving wife Jessie, and the late George Guida and his surviving wife Diane. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.



Being a lifelong Optometrist, Carmine was the Past President and Past Executive Director of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists. He was a dedicated member of the Order Sons of Italy in America for over 50 years, was a Past President of the North Middlesex Regional Mixed Lodge #2154 of Stoneham, and a member of the Wakefield Lodge # 1734.



Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM on Thursday, June 1st, 2017 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Carmine's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am.



Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 4-8pm in the funeral home. Sons of Italy members are invited to join the Ritual for Departed Members at 7pm. Parking attendants and elevator available.
