Carmine J. "Chuck" Santoro

Carmine J. “Chuck” Santoro, 74, of Stoneham, formerly of Medford, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on September 5, 2026, after nearly two years of extraordinary health challenges.

Throughout his life, Chuck was a fighter and underwent multiple open-heart surgeries. His strength and resilience were evident long before his final years, and he faced every challenge with the same courage and determination.

Chuck was a graduate of Medford High School and went on to graduate from Bentley College. He then spent 39 years working for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue as a Tax Auditor, forming lasting relationships with those he worked alongside.

Chuck was the beloved husband of Nancy (DiFiore) Santoro, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage and a life filled with love, family, and countless memories. He was the dedicated father of Christina McElhiney and her husband John, Michelle Malaguti and her husband Paul, and Joe Santoro.

Chuck was the devoted son of the late Carmine and Sophie Santoro, and dear brother of Anita Hodnett and her husband Paul, and Steven Santoro and his wife Christine. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Chuck’s greatest joy was being a husband, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather. He was the proud Papa to Sophia, Johnny, Madelyn, Olivia, Jack, and Charlie, and cherished each of them in his own special way. He loved watching them grow, spending time with them, and creating memories they will carry forever. The love and happiness his grandchildren brought him was immeasurable, and they will always remember the love he gave them.

Family was everything to Chuck. He was happiest when his home was filled with the people he loved. He loved cooking and hosting, especially during holidays, celebrations, and Sunday gatherings, and took great pride in filling his table with delicious food, traditions, and laughter. There was always room for one more at Chuck’s table, and somehow there was always more than enough food for everyone. His home was a place where family and friends felt welcome, where stories were shared, traditions were carried on, and memories were made.

Chuck loved the beach, traveling, and making the most of time spent with his family. He was a lifelong Boston sports fan and had the opportunity to work alongside Red Sox players. His love of baseball led him to coach, teaching players the value of teamwork, dedication, and playing with heart.

Chuck leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, traditions, and memories. His family will continue to gather around the table he loved to fill, prepare the recipes he made special, celebrate the holidays and traditions he cherished, and share the stories that keep his memory alive. In every family gathering, every full table, and every meal made with love, Chuck will be there.

He was deeply loved, fiercely admired, and will be missed beyond words. His memory will live on in his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, friends, and in everyone lucky enough to have called him Dad, Papa, husband, brother, coach, or friend.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. RT(28) STONEHAM on Friday September 11, 2026 at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Chuck's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. at 10. Interment will follow in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
