Carol May Lynch, a beloved educator and friend, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at the Bear Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stoneham, Massachusetts. She was 92 years old.
Born on September 23, 1932, in Leominster, Massachusetts, Carol was the cherished daughter of Russell and Lois Lynch. She spent her early life in Leominster, where she developed a love for learning and teaching that would define her future.
Carol graduated from Leominster High School before furthering her education at Fitchburg State Teaching College. Armed with her knowledge and passion for education, she dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching, primarily 5th and 6th grade. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on countless students, many of whom would go on to credit her as a significant influence in their lives. One of her former students wrote about her in the local community paper: "The enthusiasm she created was one of helping students reach their potential while at the same time enjoying the work."
Carol was an outstanding athlete, excelling in many sports throughout her life. While in high school, she played softball and soccer, setting the stage for a lifelong love of sports. As an adult, she enjoyed playing tennis and golf, and was also an avid skier. Her accomplishments include winning a 9-hole Club Championship at the Meadow Brook Golf Club, where she was an active and respected member for many years. In addition to her athletic abilities, Carol’s friends and family will remember her for her delightful sense of humor and infectious laugh.
Carol was one of seven children and is survived by her brother, Jon Keith Lynch, aged 80, who resides in Copperopolis, CA.
