Carolyn Ann (English) Caci, 93, of Brooksby Village, Peabody Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 18, 2025, under Hospice Care at the Beverly Hospital surrounded by loving family.
Carolyn was born on June 9, 1931 in Woburn Massachusetts, the daughter of John Patrick English and Kathryn Barnes English. Carolyn was the youngest of five children. Music was an essential part of their family. Time spent around the piano, singing and harmonizing were some of the happiest days of her life.
Carolyn graduated from Stoneham High School in 1949, then went on to Colby College, graduating in 1953. While at Colby, she forged friendships which lasted throughout her life. She participated in many student body activities including being a member of the singing group the Colbyette’s.
Carolyn married her high school sweetheart Joseph L Beane (predeceased). They made their home in Stoneham, Massachusetts where they raised 5 children. Carolyn was active in the community where she worked as a Librarian at the Stoneham Public Library, sharing her love of books. She continued her education by attending Salem State University where she studied Library Science.
With a passion for reading, she took a job at the Billerica Public Library. As the librarian on Bebo, Billerica’s Book Mobile, she thoroughly enjoyed spending time bringing books to the community. While at the Billerica Library, she was able to bring an up-and-coming writer, Stephen King, as a guest speaker to promote the opening of the new Library.
Carolyn found love again, when she met and married John Caci. The two shared companionship and adventures for many years. During their time together they enjoyed their blended family. They spent many happy days traveling and sailing on John’s sailboat with family and friends.
After retirement, she took a part-time position working at UMASS Lowell in the Department of Diversity. The consummate social butterfly, Carolyn enjoyed working with the students, sharing lots of hugs and laughter.
After John’s passing, Carolyn moved to Brooksby Village where she enjoyed her senior years fully. She continued her passion for music and participated in two Brooksby choirs. In addition, she ran a book club and was a volunteer within the Brooksby Community. Carolyn was a very spiritual person and a lifelong learner, always inquisitive about other religions.
