Catherine Veronica (Gareri) "Kay" Viglione, 93, of Stoneham died October 3rd at Kaplan Family Hospice House after a brief illness.
Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Sacco) Gareri. She had been a Stoneham resident and member of St. Patrick Parish since 1957. In her earlier years, Kay was involved in her church's Christian Family Movement, the Mother's Club, and was a Cub Scout den mother. After her children were grown, she spent 32 years as a volunteer at Winchester Hospital, serving twelve years as Co-chair of the volunteer board.
Kay is survived by her seven children: Patricia Hardacker and her husband Wayne, Richard Viglione, Charles Viglione, Edward Viglione and his wife Margy, James Viglione and his wife Judi, Julie Theriault, and Ann Marie Viglione and her husband Joseph Jutras of Stoneham. Kay is also survived by her sister Nancy Mueller and her husband Edward, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Walter, daughter Cathy, and siblings Peter Gareri, Rosemary Martin, Jack Gareri and Joseph Gareri.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Tuesday, October 6th at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Kay's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 9am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Monday, October 5th from 3-7pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
