Catherine M. (Hamilton) "Peg" Roy

Catherine M. (Hamilton) “Peg” Roy of Stoneham passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022.  She is 98 years of age.

Born on Friday, May 23, 1924 in Boston, Peg is the loving daughter of the late Harry A. Hamilton, Sr. and Catherine (Nihill) Hamilton. 

Peg, and the love of her life, Ray, settled in Stoneham in 1958. Her home is where she would spend the next 64 years raising family, volunteering at St Patrick’s CCD Program, and enjoying friends, including her friends at Tai Chi. Peg and Ray traveled extensively, visiting all corners of the globe, always coming home excited to share their experiences with family and friends. Peg was independent, a critical thinker, and a voracious reader; characteristics she passed on to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Catherine is the beloved wife of the late Raymond Roy.  She is the devoted mother of Kathleen M. Haley, Donald R. Roy, Linda J. Sacco and Barbara A. Roy.  The cherished grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 15 and the sister of the late Harry Hamilton, Jr, Peg is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass Celebrating Peg’s Eternal Life will be held on Monday, September 26^th at 10am in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham.  Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Peg’s Family on Monday from 8:30 – 9:30am in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM.  Parking attendants and elevator are available.  Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham.
