Catherine M. (Martin) Melendy of Reading passed away on Friday, July 8, 2005. She was 97 years of age.
Born in Chelsea, Catherine lived on Bay State Road for 50 years. For the last 12 years at Peter Sanborn Place where she had many friends and was lovingly cared for by all the staff. Many thanks to Carol, Anne, Jackie, Sandra, Lynn and all of "Her Girls". You are all the best.
Catherine was the loving daughter of the late Moses Martin and Angeline (Doucette) Martin. She was a warm and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all.
Catherine was the beloved wife of the late George Melendy. She was the devoted mother of George E. Melendy Jr. of Everett, Thomas M. Melendy of Raymond, New Hampshire, Robert E. Newell of Lynn and Maureen Cabral of Holyoke. Catherine was the cherished grandmother of Rick, Kathy, Michelle, Brian and Joseph. The great grandmother of Benjamin, Rick, Joseph, Andrew, Vanessa, JJ and Andra, Catherine was also the great great grandmother of Elizabeth, Alyssa and Venita.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30am at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Epping, New Hampshire. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Monday from 5-8pm in the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING.
