Catherine (Vitale) Valentini, of Andover and formerly of East Boston, passed away on Thursday, January 26th, 2023.  Born in Terrasini, Sicily, she is the loving daughter of the late Giovanni and Serafina (Tocco) Vitale.

At the age of 13, Catherine came to the North End of Boston.  She worked as a seamstress until having her daughters.  In 1960, Catherine settled in East Boston and raised her family.  In 2006, she moved to Andover Commons where she spent her retirement years.  Catherine enjoyed listening to Italian music and being with family.  Her greatest joy came from being a doting great grandmother to her great grandson Zander.  He brought joy and happiness to her.  Catherine will be deeply missed by her cherished daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and siblings.

Catherine is the devoted mother of Eleonora Davolio and her husband Michael of Andover and Anna Marie Caruso and her husband Thomas of Italy.  Cherished grandmother of Amanda Davolio and Diana, Anthony, Angela, Robert and Denise Caruso and great grandmother of Zander, Daniel, Sofia and Thomas.  Beloved sister of Bridget Andreoli and her late husband Joseph of Newton, Grace Lovering and her husband Dan of Lakeville, Josephine Carleton and her husband Jim of Stoughton and John Vitale and his wife Kim of East Boston.  Catherine is also the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023 at 11:30am.

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) prior to the Mass from 10am to 11am.

Interment will Follow the mass in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
