Charles F. Nickerson

June 14, 1946 — December 13, 2010

Charles F. Nickerson of Westford formerly of Reading passed away on Monday, December 13, 2010 after a courageous battle with lymphoma. He was 64 years of age.



Born in Boston, Charles was the loving son of Robert A. Nickerson and the late Frances (Hurdy) Nickerson.



During Vietnam, Charles proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Marine Corps.



Charles graduated from Reading High School in 1964. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. Charles enjoyed travelling to National Parks, Alaska and Ireland. He worked at Lincoln Laboratories for 42 years. He enjoyed home carpentry. Charles loved spending time with his grandchildren.



Charles was the beloved husband of Elaine (King) Nickerson. He was the devoted father of Elizabeth Nickerson, Michael Nickerson and his wife Karen all of Reading and Steven Nickerson of Andover. Devoted Papa of Matthew, Catie and Ryan. Dear brother of Kathy Buckner and her husband Ronald of Reading, John Nickerson and his wife Terri of Duxbury, Kathy Wingate of NJ and the late Robert Nickerson. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and in-laws.



Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden Street READING Tuesday at 10am followed by a Funeral Service Celebrating Charles' Life in First Congregational Church, 25 Woburn St., Reading at 11:00 am. Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Monday from 1-3 & 6-9pm. Parking attendants will be available.
