Chester S. Cleveland of Stoneham passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Winchester Hospital. He was 90 years of age.
Born in Boston on August 27, 1918, Chester was the loving son of the late Bissell Cleveland and Olive (Trickey) Cleveland. Chester was a warm and caring son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed.
Chester was a heavy equipment salesman for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the VFW. During World War II, Chester proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Navy.
Chester was the beloved husband for 57 years of Rose M. (Alpedo) Cleveland. He was the devoted father of Clayton "Skip" Cleveland and his wife Susan of Boxford, Darlene Manson, Deborah Herook and her husband William, all of Stoneham. Chester was the cherished grandfather of Jamie-Rose, Carrie-Ann, Jonathan, Joseph, Clay, Derek and Scott.
A Funeral Service celebrating Chester's life will be held on Saturday at 10am at the First Congregational Church, corner of Main St. and Church St. Stoneham. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM.
