Holsing, Christopher P. -of North Reading at the age of 57, passed away February 13 after a three year struggle with colon cancer. Husband of Susan Maguire Holsing. Father of Nicholas Holsing of Johnson City, New York and Elizabeth Holsing of North Reading. Brother of Winifred Fili of Miami, Florida and son of G. Carl Holsing and the late Mary Holsing of Raleigh North Carolina.
Mr. Holsing was raised in Lyndonville, New York and McLean, Virginia. He earned his AB from Harvard University in 1977 and his JD from Harvard Law School in 1982. Mr Holsing lived in North Reading since 1984.
Mr. Holsing was an accomplished musician playing the french horn. While an undergraduate at Harvard, Mr. Holsing was a member of the Harvard-Radcliff Orchestra, the Harvard University Band and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society. He shared his love of music with his children and was particularly fond of attending their concerts and the family's annual summer trips to Tanglewood. Other pleasures included spending time playing board games with his wife and children, watching his children's sports, cross country skiing, politics, and baseball.
Mr. Holsing practiced with the Boston law firm of Hale and Dorr before starting his solo practice in 1991. He provided excellent legal counsel at affordable rates, specializing in small corporate start-ups.
